Zoubida CHARROUF est Professeure Emérite à la Faculté des Sciences de l’Université Mohammed V à Rabat. Elle est membre actif dans plusieurs associations qui promeuvent le développement durable et l’équité sociale. En plus de la recherche fondamentale et appliquée dans le domaine des ressources biologiques, Prof. Charrouf dissémine ces travaux en réalisant des Activités génératrices de revenus autour de ces plantes pour l’autonomisation des femmes en milieu rural et la conservation de la Biodiversité.

Pr Charrouf a fondé les premières coopératives de femmes pour la production et la commercialisation de l’huile d’argan au Maroc. Elle a contribué non seulement à l’organisation de la filière de l’huile d’argane mais également à sa reconnaissance comme ingrédient cosmétique et aliment fonctionnel en plus de ses valeurs culinaires. Membre fondateur d’OriGIn et partenaire de FLO International, Mme Charrouf s’est beaucoup investit dans la reconnaissance de l’huile d’argane comme Indication Géographique protégée et FairTrade. Mme Charrouf travaille sur d’autres plantes médicinales marocaines et organise les fournisseurs pour un sourcing éthique et durable des ressources biologiques tout en respectant la législation en vigueurs.

Mme Charrouf a été la marraine de la 2ème édition du Forum International Afrique et Beauté et depuis elle a non seulement participé aux autres Forums mais également contribué à l’organisation de l’édition qui s’est déroulé au Maroc en avril 2019.

Pr Charrouf est l’auteur de près de 150 publications internationales sur l’arganier et ses dérivés, et plus de 300 communications et conférences dans des rencontres scientifiques.

Pr Charrouf a reçu plusieurs prix nationaux et internationaux pour ses travaux.

Zoubida CHARROUF is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Science at Mohammed V University in Rabat. She is an active member in several associations that promote sustainable development and social equity. In addition to basic and applied research in the field of biological resources, Prof. Charrouf disseminates this work by carrying out income-generating activities around these plants for the empowerment of women in rural areas and the conservation of biodiversity.

Pr Charrouf founded the first women’s cooperatives for the production and marketing of argan oil in Morocco. It has contributed not only to the organization of the argan oil sector but also to its recognition as a cosmetic ingredient and functional food in addition to its culinary values. Founding member of OriGIn and partner of FLO International, Ms. Charrouf has invested a lot in the recognition of argan oil as a Protected Geographical Indication and FairTrade. Ms. Charrouf works on other Moroccan medicinal plants and organizes suppliers for an ethical and sustainable sourcing of biological resources while respecting the legislation in force.

Ms. Charrouf was the godmother of the 2nd edition of the Africa and Beauty International Forum and since then she has not only participated in the other Forums but also contributed to the organization of the edition which took place in Morocco in April 2019.

Pr Charrouf is the author of nearly 150 international publications on the argan tree and its derivatives and more than 300 communications and conferences in scientific meetings.

Pr Charrouf has received several national and international awards for his work.
